About Me.

Charissa is both a singer-songwriter and pianist. She had began singing and learning the piano since a tender age of 7 and went on to major in Pop Keyboard during her Diploma in Music at LASALLE College of the Arts. Currently, she is completing her final year at LASALLE College of the Arts pursuing a BA in Music (Hons), majoring in Pop Vocals under the tutelage of Babes Conde. Charissa’s passion for music goes beyond playing the keyboard and singing. She began writing songs when she was in her teens and since then, has written over 20 original songs. She also produced two albums titled,  “I’m a Child of God” and “Overflow” for the children church ministry that she regularly volunteers with. Growing up attending church’s Sunday school, Charissa was deeply touched by the care of her teachers, which inspired her to pursue teaching. Charissa now teaches piano to a variety of students, ranging from young children aged 4 to adult learners. She is experienced in teaching in both one-to-one and in group settings. She is also versatile in teaching both in-person and online classes. In recent months, Charissa had the opportunity to share her expertise in music during a Ministry of Education (MOE)’s teaching internship at a local secondary school. It was an enriching experience for Charissa as she planned and taught music lessons for Secondary 1 to 2 classes. Through the various teaching experiences she has with different age groups in different settings, Charissa has grown to specialize in teaching children and teenagers. She believes that it is crucial to guard children’s and teenagers’ music interests in their early age so that they will continue to grow into the singers or musicians that they aspire to be.
